Most people who end up with something custom did not arrive planning to. They arrived having tried the ready made version and found it almost right. Almost right is a real problem when you wear something every day, and it is usually fixable.
When custom is the right answer
Your head is an unusual size or shape, and stock caps either float or squeeze. Your hair loss pattern does not match how stock pieces are built. You need a texture that is genuinely yours rather than a close approximation. You have sensitivity or scarring and the piece has to sit a particular way. You want a specific length, color or density that nobody makes in a standard run. Or you have found a piece you love and want a second one exactly like it, so one can be worn while the other is being cared for.
What we can control
- Measurements or a mold. For complex shapes we can take a full pattern of your head rather than working from a size chart.
- Cap and base construction. Lace, silk top, hand tied, monofilament, and combinations, chosen for comfort, security and how you want the part to read.
- Density. Set for your face and your age rather than for a photograph, and graded so the temples and part look right.
- Hairline. Placement, shape, softness and how far back it sits.
- Color. Built to your reference rather than picked from a ring, including root work and dimension so it does not read flat.
- Texture and length. Straight, wave and natural curl. Where curl is needed, curl that is naturally that way rather than chemically set behaves differently and lasts differently.
- Attachment. Clips, combs, grip, tape, bonded and semi permanent methods, matched to your hair, your scalp and your week.

How long it takes
It depends on materials, construction, length, color, customization and the current production schedule. Matching a particular texture, color, length or quality can add sourcing time. We give you the best available estimate before you commit, and we would rather tell you a real date than a comfortable one.
If you have an important date, a wedding, a treatment start, a trip, say so at the beginning. Sometimes the honest answer is that a custom piece will not make it and a customized stock piece will, and we would rather you hear that early.
Repeat orders usually move faster, because your approved measurements, pattern and production specifications are already on file with us and with the factory.
What changes the price
Human hair or synthetic. The grade and quality of the hair. Base and cap construction. Density and fullness. Length and color work. Texture matching. Attachment method. How much customization the piece needs. Because so much of this is decided with you rather than in advance, pricing is confirmed in a written estimate after your consultation rather than published as a number that would be wrong for most people.
