Complete care guide
Care that protects softness, movement, shape, and construction.
Your wig, topper, hair system, or extensions do not need to be treated exactly like growing hair. Alternative hair is not washed every day, and lace, knots, clips, polyurethane, tape, bonds, beads, wefts, and attachment areas each require appropriate handling.
The best routine depends on how the hair is worn. Start with the wear path that matches your piece, then use the problem solving and wash guidance below. Always follow the instructions for your exact hair and attachment method when they differ from general guidance.
Start here
Choose the care path that matches how you wear your hair
Removable wig or topper
Remove it before sleeping unless your Moxi Loxi specialist has directed otherwise. Brush and inspect it off the head, wash it on a stable stand, and return it to THE VOYAGE only when completely dry.
Semi permanent wig, topper, or hair system
Most of the same lightweight cleansing, conditioning, refreshing, volume, and hold guidance applies. The main difference is that an attached system does not need THE VOYAGE for daily storage. Protect the attachment areas and follow the wash, drying, and maintenance directions for the installation method.
Hair extensions
Most of the same lightweight care products apply. Support installed attachment points while brushing and dry the roots fully. Store clip ins, removed extensions, or extension hair you want to reuse on the Hair Hanger. For compatible tape extensions, use fresh replacement tape when the hair is professionally removed and reinstalled.
Primary protection
Store your piece in THE VOYAGE.
THE VOYAGE | Luxury Wig & Topper Care System is the first care recommendation for a removable wig or topper. The structured case protects against dust, pets, children, crushing, and unnecessary handling. The removable suction styling stand supports the shape while you brush, style, wash, or dry. The included Eco Brush gives you a gentle daily tool, and the silk bag provides compact storage with less friction and moisture absorption than cotton.
$249, or $179 with each eligible Moxi Loxi wig or topper. You save $70 per eligible piece.
Every wear
The maintenance rhythm.
Before wearing
Check the base, clips, combs, lace, and attachment areas. Make sure the piece is fully dry and free of tangles. If you use a grip band or cap, place it smoothly so it supports the fit without creating pressure points.
After wearing
For a removable piece, take it off before sleeping and support the hair near the base as you detangle from the ends upward with the Eco Brush included in THE VOYAGE. For semi permanent systems and extensions, follow your nighttime protection plan and brush while supporting the attachment areas. Do not drag a brush across lace, knots, tape, bonds, beads, or wefts.
Between washes
Use Aura Restore when odor is the issue. Use Tease when roots or curls have fallen. Use Foundation Mist for lightweight hydration and detangling. Choose the product that solves the immediate problem instead of layering everything at once.
For hold
Finish with Fixation. Its ultra fine mist gives flexible, brushable control. Brush through the previous application before adding more so product is not repeatedly layered on hair that is not washed every day.
For shine
Use Luster Mist sparingly on the lengths and ends when the finish looks dull or synthetic fiber needs more softness and movement. Avoid saturating the base.
For storage
When a removable wig or topper is off the head, return it completely dry to THE VOYAGE with its shape supported and the case closed. Use the included silk bag for compact travel. Use the separate Hair Hanger for clip ins, removed extensions, extension hair being saved for later use, or another compact hanging option. Semi permanent systems and installed extensions remain on the wearer and do not need THE VOYAGE for daily storage.
Wash day
Wash when the piece tells you it is ready.
There is no single schedule for every wearer. Wash when the hair no longer moves or styles normally after a light refresh, when the base no longer feels fresh, or when sweat, oil, dead skin cells, odor, and product residue have accumulated. Exercise, heat, humidity, attachment method, and styling habits can move wash day closer.
1. Pure Wash
Cleanse with Pure Wash. It removes accumulated sebum, sweat, dead skin cells, environmental debris, and styling residue, then rinses clean without leaving heavy conditioning residue.
2. Pure Conditioner
Apply Pure Conditioner through the mid lengths and ends. Leave it on for two to three minutes, rinse thoroughly, and keep it away from sensitive base areas unless your specific instructions say otherwise.
3. Foundation Mist
Blot gently with a towel. Do not rub, twist, or wring. Mist Foundation Mist through the towel dried lengths and ends, then detangle from the ends upward.
4. Dry completely
Support the piece on the suction styling stand. Allow it to dry according to the styling needs of the hair and construction. Never store or wear the piece while its base is still damp.
Avoid unnecessary wear
Four common causes of premature decline.
Friction and tension
Sleeping in a removable piece, rough towel drying, brushing from the top downward, and pulling through knots can loosen hair and stress the construction.
Inappropriate heat
Confirm whether the piece is human hair, heat friendly synthetic, or traditional synthetic before using heat. Follow the temperature guidance for the exact piece.
Heavy residue
Dry shampoo powders, rich oils, heavy conditioner near the base, and rigid hairspray layered for days can leave hair dull, coated, harder to brush, or difficult to cleanse.
Unprotected storage
Open shelves and drawers expose hair to dust, pets, children, cotton friction, crushing, and loss of shape. Use THE VOYAGE as the primary home for the piece.
