Wigs

A wig you buy and a wig you wear are not the same object. What separates them is rarely the price. It is the fit at your hairline, the density where your part falls, a cut that follows your face, and whether the color still reads as yours in daylight. All of that happens after the box is opened. That is the part we do.

How to tell a good wig from an expensive one

The cap. How a piece is built decides how it sits, how it breathes and how it moves. A lace front lets the hairline read softly against your skin. A silk top creates the impression of hair growing from a scalp where you part it. Hand tied construction lets each strand fall in any direction rather than one fixed way.

The density. Most wigs are made fuller than real hair, because fullness photographs well. Nobody has that much hair at the temples and the part. Bringing density down to what suits your face is one of the fastest ways to make a piece read as yours.

The fit. A piece that holds is a piece you stop thinking about by lunchtime. Circumference, ear to ear, front to nape and the shape of your own head all change which cap will actually stay put.

The finish. Every wig and topper purchase includes an initial cut to personalize the piece for you. It is the single step that changes the result most, and it is the step most people never get.

The Moxi Loxi collection

A focused range of human hair wigs, each chosen for a different need rather than to fill a catalog.

  • ELENA Silk Veil and ELENA Lace, low density lace front pieces for anyone who wants the part and hairline to sit lightly.
  • ELODIE, a lace front bob for people who want their hair back at a shorter length and do not want to fuss with it.
  • Bardot, hand tied, for movement and for scalps that need the gentlest contact.
  • Hunter, lace front with a silk top, long and layered.
  • THE MOTION, built for a secure everyday fit.
  • The Workout Wig, for the gym, the trail and anywhere you sweat, so your main piece is not the one taking that wear.
  • Healy Cascade, a silk top piece with length.

If none of these is quite it, that is normal and it is not the end of the conversation. Most of what we make is not listed. See custom solutions.

Do you need a wig, or a topper

If you still have hair around the sides and back to blend into, a topper is usually the lighter, cooler and less expensive answer, and it can be the right one for years. A wig makes sense when coverage needs to be complete, when your scalp needs protecting, or when you simply want the freedom of putting your hair on and leaving. Read about hair toppers, or let FitScan narrow it for you.

If your hair loss is medical

A wig fitted for medically related hair loss is usually called a full cranial prosthesis, and that wording matters when you are dealing with a health plan. Moxi Loxi maintains a National Provider Identifier and can provide documentation for you to submit. See full cranial prosthesis. If you are preparing for chemotherapy, radiation or another treatment, the Medical Hair Loss Consultation is complimentary and no referral is needed.

How we work

We start with a conversation, not a catalog. What changed, what you have tried, what you want to look like on an ordinary Tuesday. Then measurements, cap construction, density, color and length. Then the cut. Then we teach you how to put it on, take it off and keep it alive, because that is what decides how long it lasts.

Consultations happen in person at our Danville studio or virtually from wherever you are. Not ready to talk to a person yet? FitScan gives you your measurements and a shortlist before you speak to anyone.

Before you order

Prepared for you. Final sale. Supported for 30 days. Every Moxi Loxi wig is professionally prepared using the preferences you share with us, and it comes with our 30 Day Fit and Finish Promise. If something is not right, tell us within 30 days of delivery and we will work out the fit or finish refinement with you. Read the full returns, exchanges and fit promise before you buy.

Unsure about color, density, length or size? Ask us first. That is free, and it is the whole point of us.
