Men's Hair Replacement
Moxi Loxi is a hair loss studio, and hair loss does not only happen to women. The same questions arrive: what is causing it, what are my options, and will anyone be able to tell. The answers are the same too. The only thing that really changes is the cut.
What Moxi Loxi makes for men
Custom hair replacement systems. Built to your measurements, your density, your growth direction and your hairline. This is a Moxi Loxi piece, specified by us and made to our standard, not a stock unit with your name on the box.
Moxi Loxi stock hairpieces. Ready made pieces from our own range, then fitted, cut and finished for you here. Faster and less expensive than a custom build, and for a lot of men it is the right first step.
Custom low density men's wigs. Less common and often the better answer. A full piece that comes off at the end of the day, made at a density that reads as real rather than as new hair, for men who want coverage without a bonded commitment.
Supplies and system care. Our own adhesive, remover and cleansing range, for your system whether we made it or not.
Which suits you depends on how much hair you have, what your scalp is like, how you spend your week and how much maintenance you genuinely want in your life. That gets worked out before anything is built or ordered.
Why most systems look like systems
It is almost never the piece. It is density set too high, a hairline drawn where a twenty year old's would be, and a cut that belongs to a different discipline.
Men's hair is barbered, not styled. The hairline, the temple and the transition from the piece down into your own hair at the back and sides all have to be cut the way men's hair is cut: blended, graduated, and short enough to be honest. Moxi Loxi holds that standard because its founder trained for it, through the American Crew haircutting academy alongside her trichology and hair replacement certifications. It is a standard the studio applies, not a personality trait.
Wigs, and not only for hair loss
Not everyone who wants hair is losing it.
Some men want more hair than they have. Some want length they cannot grow, or a color they will never get to on their own. Some are building a look that is not the one they were born into, and want it to be as good as anybody else's. We fit all of it, including women's styles and fully custom pieces, and nobody is asked to explain themselves.
One practical thing worth knowing. Men's and women's caps are built differently. Circumference, nape shape, hairline placement and density distribution are not the same, and a stock piece designed for one head does not always sit right on another. If the style you want only exists as a women's piece, that is usually a fit and customization problem rather than a dead end, and it is often exactly what a custom build is for.
We are in the Bay Area and we have been doing this a long time. Whatever you arrive wanting, it is very unlikely to be the most unusual request of the month.
Matching grey
Grey is the hardest thing to match on a men's piece and the thing that gives most of them away. It is rarely one percentage across a whole head, it is usually heavier at the temples, and it keeps moving as you go on.
Moxi Loxi builds grey to your own distribution rather than ordering it from a chart, and adjusts it as you change. That capability comes from full line color education with Alfaparf and the Redken Specialist Program, with further training through Kevin Murphy, Goldwell, Aveda, L'Oreal, Megix and Pro Rituals.
Blending, in the boutique and at a distance
Blending is where a piece stops looking like a piece. Getting it to disappear into the hair you still have is done with scissors in hand, adjusting as it goes, and it is the part clients tell us they did not know they were missing. In the boutique we do it in one sitting.
If you cannot get to Danville, we still do it. Virtual consultations and FitScan give us your measurements, your proportions, your head shape and your hairline mapping, which is a great deal more than a size chart, and the piece is prepared and finished to those before it reaches you. Distance changes the process. It does not change whether the work can be done.
Fit and attachment
We work across the attachment methods rather than pushing one. Adhesive, tape, clips and semi permanent approaches suit different scalps, different amounts of remaining hair and different weeks. Someone in the gym five mornings a week needs a different answer to someone who is not.
You will also be told when the honest answer is that you do not need a system yet, or that a shorter cut would serve you better than anything we could sell you.
Living with it
A system is a commitment to a rhythm, not a one off purchase. Depending on the attachment it is reserviced every few weeks: cleaned, the bond refreshed, the hair recut and blended back into your own growth. Skipping that is what makes systems look wrong and what damages the hair underneath.
You will be told your interval before you commit rather than after, because it is a real part of the cost and the real part of the decision.

You do not need an appointment for this part, and you do not need to have bought your system from us. Most men wearing a system are using the wrong things on it, usually something bought on price from a marketplace listing, and it is the fastest way to shorten the life of an expensive piece.
- Bondzilla, our adhesive, for a secure clear hold. Patch test before first use.
- Pure Detach, our adhesive remover, so the bond comes off the skin gently rather than being worked at.
- Pure Wash, built for the buildup that comes with extended wear and less frequent washing.
- Pure Conditioner, for the hair in the system as well as your own.
- Aura Restore, for odor between washes, which is the thing nobody asks about and everybody wants.
- Luster Mist, for shine on hair that no longer receives anything from a scalp.
Heavy oils and conditioners near the bond line soften the hold and dull the hair, which is the single most common mistake we see. Shop care and supplies, or read accessories and care for the full routine.
If you wear a system and have never been taught how to care for it properly, ask us. We will show you, and we would rather do that than sell you a replacement early.
Handled quietly
Most men who come to us thought about it for a long time before saying anything to anyone. Consultations are private and nobody else is in the room. You are not put on a mailing list for turning up, and you can ask the questions you have been carrying around without anyone making a thing of it.

What it costs
Priced by construction, density, hair, attachment method and the reservicing interval your life needs. A stock piece fitted and cut here costs less than a custom build, and you will be told the difference honestly. You get a written estimate after a consultation covering both the piece and the ongoing maintenance, so there are no surprises in month three.
