Travel & storage
Take your routine with you. A practical guide for removable wigs and toppers. Read it here or save a copy. No writing or extra purchase is required.
Save the free three-page PDFStart with the piece you already know
For a short trip, a familiar piece and the routine that already works can be enough. Choose around the activities on your itinerary, the time you want to spend getting ready, and the storage space you will have.
Set up before you pack
Check the base, lace, clips and fit. If a clip is loose, lace is worn, or the fit has changed, ask for help before departure. Save the instructions for your exact piece on your phone so you can find them away from home.
Leave time to dry completely
If washing is needed before travel, plan enough drying time for both the hair and base. Follow your piece-specific drying directions. A damp base should not be closed inside a case or storage bag.
A useful companion: My Care Passport keeps your piece details and confirmed care instructions together. It is free and optional.
Pack with a plan
Keep the hair, care products and instructions organized. Use suitable supplies you already own before adding more.
The piece and its protection
Pack the piece completely dry, with its shape supported in a suitable protective case. Keep it clear of items that could crush or snag it. A storage bag can help organize a piece, but it is not a substitute for protection from a heavy object.
A small, familiar care setup
Bring the brush or comb approved for your exact fiber and construction, the compatible products you actually use, and your usual removable-piece storage or stand. Protect the lace and base while handling the hair. One brush or heat setting is not right for every piece.
Two simple packing examples
- A weekend: one familiar piece, its protective storage, your approved detangling tool, and the products needed for your established routine.
- A longer stay: the same essentials, plus your confirmed wash products and a suitable drying setup if a wash is likely. A second piece is a choice, not a requirement.
Flying with care products
For U.S. TSA screening, standard carry-on liquids, gels, creams and aerosols must be in containers of 3.4 oz (100 mL) or less, fitting together in one quart-size bag; one bag per passenger. Check current TSA, airport and airline rules before packing, including restrictions on sprays and styling tools.
Travel rule checked October 16, 2026. Read the current TSA liquids rule. Other countries and routes may have different requirements.
Away, then home
Set up a familiar place for your piece before the busy part of the trip begins.
On arrival
Unpack and inspect the piece. Choose a clean, stable place for your approved stand or storage setup. Keep the case away from crushing and unnecessary handling. If you brought a heat tool, confirm both the piece's heat guidance and the tool's electrical compatibility before use.
After wearing
Remove a removable piece before sleeping unless your specialist has directed otherwise. Follow its detangling directions, supporting the hair near the base and working gently from the ends upward. Return it to storage only when completely dry. Use your separate nighttime plan for attached systems.
When you get home
Inspect the hair, base and clips again. Decide whether the piece needs a wash, a light refresh or professional attention based on its condition and your confirmed instructions. Refill only the supplies you used. Keep a useful trip note if you want; there is no form to complete.
